Requirements for Boarding in our facility
What vaccines do we need to board your pet?
~UPDATED~ Dogs: Official vaccination records showing Rabies, Distemper (DHPP), and Bordatella (Kennel Cough). These must be the shot records, not a veterinarian's receipt.
Bordatella must be given no sooner than 2 weeks prior to the stay to be effective per our Vet's recommendation.
Cats: Shot records showing Rabies and Distemper.
PA Residents
~UPDATED~ The PA Dog Warden visits this facility quite often to ensure our compliance with all dog laws. We, here at Pamela’s Pampered Pets, will need to have proof of a valid PA dog license. The Dog Warden will be taking a copy of our kennel records to ensure compliance.
Out of State
~UPDATED~ Pennsylvania has instituted the need for a CVI for out of state pets that come into Pennsylvania for 30 or more days. Out of state pets for less than 30 days are EXEMPT. The CVI, or Certified Veterinary Inspection, must have a registration or ID number per the State of Pennsylvania.

DOGS:
-
All dogs (except dogs in PA for 30 days or less for the purposes of show, exhibition, or trial) must have a CVI within 60 days prior to entry. The CVI shall state the following: the dogs do not show signs or symptoms of infectious or communicable disease, did not originate from an area under quarantine for rabies, and (as ascertained by reasonable investigation) have not been exposed to rabies within 100 days of importation. The CVI should contain an accurate description of the animal including its age, breed, coloration and all official identification for the animal.
-
All dogs 3 months of age and older require a statement of current rabies vaccination on the CVI prepared by a licensed Veterinary graduate and shall include the following: The name of the manufacturer of the vaccine used, the date of administration, and the rabies tag number (if one is assigned in the state of origin).
-
All dogs over 3 months of age brought into this Commonwealth shall be accompanied by a certificate of vaccination for rabies.
USDA APHIS Form 7001 is not accepted as an official CVI.

What is a CVI?
A CVI is an official document provided by your state or federal government to authorized veterinarians certifying the animals listed were healthy at the time of the veterinary inspection.

Where can I obtain a CVI for my pet?
Please contact an accredited veterinarian to obtain a CVI.

How do I know the CVI my veterinarian completed is correct?
A CVI is required to meet the state of destination’s animal importation requirements. Not all states require a CVI for small animal (cats, dogs, pocket pets, etc.) imports. Check with the state of destination for more information. Only an accredited veterinarian can fill out a CVI. They are responsible for filling it out accurately. All sections on the CVI must be completed, i.e. name, addresses, dates and veterinarian information.
